How to Set up a Kick-Butt Blog

So you want to learn how to start a blog?

Been reading up on all the stay-at-home moms and travel bloggers that make gobs of money just documenting their journeys? Do you do cool stuff and want to share it with the world?

Then I suggest you follow my tips listed below:

Tip #1: Go somewhere else to learn!

I have no clue what I’m doing here! I’ve spent countless hours reading over articles and blogs and listening to podcasts, trying to check off every box and learn every little thing. But there is no way to know everything.

Some resources that I found highly helpful are:

Gathering Dreams If you want a step-by-step guide this lady has it nailed down! Stop wasting your time here, just go to her site now and get your website started.

Food Blogger Pro This dream team couple are the creators behind the food blog Pinch of Yum. At their site, you will find many resources including blogging classes they offer as well as their informative-yet-enjoyable podcast. Even if you aren’t specifically interested in food blogging, they provide tons of advice that can apply to any blog or website.

Tip #2: Don’t be a chicken___.

This is advice for anything, not just website stuff.

I purchased my domain and attempted to learn WordPress back in June of 2019. It’s now February 2020, and I’m just finally releasing this beast. That’s soo much time that I wasted before releasing this site into the world like a baby bird from the nest….and it’s still a hot mess of a bird.

Is this website perfect? Hell no.

Does it have a clear direction? Oooof.

Is anyone reading this? Highly debatable.

Is it out in the world? Yes.

Am I proud of this? Yes, even though I’m very self-critical and will find a bazillion things to fix.

But at least its a start and at least I’m trying something! If you somehow found your way here to my little slice of the interwebs, then you too can create your own thing. Go out and seize the s___ out of whatever it is you want to do.

That’s it. I only have two tips.

In the future, I hope to develop better content for this space and create awesome unique stuff.

If this was even remotely interesting or you have topics you would like me to cover, comment below. I will mostly be focusing on baking or my other creative endeavors like block printing and such, so if you suggest topics like fat tire biking or something else outside my focus I may politely ignore it. But feel free to share your ideas and thoughts anyway!

Thanks for sticking round.
